ONLINE COURSE: UCC History and Polity

September 3 - December 3

This 12 week online course examines the History & Polity of the United Church of Christ. This is a rigorous course with extensive reading, online research, student interaction and weekly assignments. Be prepared to devote a minimum of 10 hours a week for successful completion. This course also spends time focusing on the emerging UCC and gives students a chance to explore, social justice, world missions, ecumenism and new & renewing congregational ministry. ONLINE COURSE: Church Renewal 1.0

September 16 - October 21

Renewing a church requires a unique skill set in pastoral and lay leadership. In this course, Rev. Michael Piazza (CPR Executive Director for Church Renewal and the former senior pastor and Dean of the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas, TX - the Cathedral of Hope grew from 230 members to over 4,000 members during his tenure) and Rev. Jim Latimer (Church Renewal Pastor and CPR Coach) will teach you the basics of turning your church around. The course has two live sessions both at 7:00 p.m. and will be recorded and available, the rest of the course happens each week with readings, recorded lectures, and class discussions. Each student or church team is asked to do a course project that will be applicable to their setting.
