|WEBINAR: It's a Whole New World - Changing Cultural Context of Today’s Church||
|Monday, July 02, 2012, 08:00pm - 09:00pm|
Congregations do not exist in a vacuum. Congregations live and serve in cultural settings and historical eras. While the gospel is centered in Jesus Christ who is "the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13: 8), cultural contexts do change. Such changes call for faithful and creative response on the part of congregations and their leaders.
As we begin to explore what this means for us today, consider this: we would all agree that we do not live in the medieval world. Today many claim that we no longer live in the modern world or in a culture called "modernity." There is a lot of talk about “post-modernity” and its impact on Christianity and the church. If that is true, what world, what culture, do we live today in North America.
Join noted pastor, author and CPR Consultant Tony Robinson as he explores cultural change and its impact on the church. In preparation for the webinar participants are encouraged to read further on the topic by going to: http://www.ucc.org/vitality/ready-set-grow/know-community-culture/its-a-whole-new-world.html
